The Best and Worst Meals in Spain were at the Museum

You can take a look at my post of our meal at  Nerue at the Guggenheim in Bilbao.  A wonderful meal.  The Museum eh, not so great.  The Gheary building was amazing.

Today we spent the day at the PRADO in Madrid.  One of the worlds great Museums.  They have so many of the worlds art masterpieces.  Enjoying the world's great masterpieces is hard work.  We needed a break and some lunch.  The PRADO has a cafe. We were kind of captive so we thought, "how bad can it be".  Big mistake.  This was far and away the worst meal of the entire trip so far.  Guaranteed the worst meal in Spain.

I made the mistake of ordering the braised oxtail.  I've had this dish and even made it numerous times.  Usually an unctuous stewed meat cooked for a long time until it's falling off the bone tender.  This was not that.  It was so thought I could not cut it with a knife.  I had to chase it all over the plate.  Truly Disgusting!  Linda had the pleasure of ordering the worst Paella ever.  Tasted like it was cooked a couple of days prior.  Crunchy clams, rubbery calamari, a dried out piece of chicken.  The whole thing was Nasty.

Maybe the better the Museum, the worse the restaurant.  The PRADO Museum, was wonderful, just eat before you go.
