A Very Walk-able City

I love San Diego however one thing that does not compare with some of the great cities in Europe is how San Diego was built for cars and not people.  Great for moving long distances quickly.  Not good for walking.  Maybe that's why they don't have the obesity problems that we have.  Donastia is a very walk-able city.  Big wide promenades everywhere.  There are tons of people out walking everywhere at all hours of the day (well not so much early in the morning).  I'm glad to see that a popular trend here and many European cities is to block car traffic from many streets providing a comfortable safe walking paths over large areas.  Similar to the Italians they love the paseo or as the Itailans call it the passeggiata.  The time when everyone is out for a walk.  A beautiful time.
