A Sweet Local Festival in Sarlat
We arrived in Sarlat la Caneda which is in the middle of the Dordogne region of Central France. A very rural part of France. Sarlat is a time capsule to the 15th Century. The entire part of the central old town is incredibly well preserved. I think this part of France was relatively untouched by the terrible devastation that ravaged much of Europe during the 2nd world war. It makes me wonder how different Europe would be if WWII did not occur.
We arrived on May 15, just when a local festival was taking place.
La Ringueta was the name of the festival. I really don't know what that means. I tried to look it up but couldn't find it. To me the most amazing thing was this festival seemed to center around all the little childminder. There was a dozen low tech games designed for the little kids. It was great to see how much the kids and parents enjoyed this without anything being plugged in or connected to a computer. Here's a few video's of the games.

Of course there was food. Here's the menu 17 Euros for 5 courses. Unfortunately we had dinner reservations and were unable to attend this one. Would have loved to,
Cooking food for the festival
Big hunks of meat
Potatoes cooked in Duck Fat
Pate course for hundreds
