Toads wild ride

After we first picked up the car in Catania, on our way to Villa Casale (the most extensive series of Roman mosaic's anywhere in the world), I inadvertently set the GPS (in GPS we trust) to take us the shortest distance and not fastest time.  This took us on all the back roads to our destination, avoiding the freeways.  Not a great idea.  We got on the road and begin driving.  We have the crazy little (I mean little), Fiat Punto.  There was very little traffic on this road, we soon find out why.  I was driving 65 mph, near the speed limit but not terribly fast, we crossed over the first railroad crossing and I didn't realize how unsmooth the transition would be but I nearly crushed both our skull off the roof of the car.  The car hit the tracks pretty hard, luckly nothing broke, including us.  I slowed down more for railroad crossing now.
