The Siciliani are so incredibly nice

I'd have to admit that some of the response that we get from the local's here, may be because we try (although not very well at all), to speak Italian.  Not even Sicilian, but Florentine Italian. Probably some if it has to do with the fact that I am 100% Siciliani Americani and am here to try to find my roots.  Everyone, and I mean almost everyone has been so incredibly nice, generous and helpful.  Even if the don't speak any English, I'm amazed that we can have somewhat of a conversation.  I can't say enough about how great everyone has been.  It's very special.
