Katz Deli, The High Line, and the Empire State Building

Wednesday we thought we would walk the Highline. The High Line is a public park built on an historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. It is owned by the City of New York, and maintained and operated by Friends of the High Line. Founded in 1999 by community residents.  A great fun walk.
But first food.  Well you have to eat.  On my list Katz's Deli on the Lower East side.  "The best" Pastrami ever. We also had the chopped liver sandwich.  A great Breakfast/lunch.  It took me 3 hours of walking to come out of the meat coma from that sandwich. Now off to walk the high line.  A fun walk and the weather was perfect.

The HighLine

After the high line we decided to check off the Empire State Building.  Had to do it but it was another one of those "Get me out of here moments".  The line was terrible.  After we bought our tickets, we stood in lines for the elevator for at least 40 minutes.  We finally get to the elevator and get out on the 86th floor and it was packed.  Wall to wall people.  Yesterday we went to the top of 30 Rock, that was a much better experience.  My advice, do 30 Rock, skip the Empire State Building.

After a long day of touristing and walking, a little refreshment.  Salumeria Rosi.  Nothing better than sitting in the sun drinking wine and eating salumi and talking to Linda.

Lardo Crostini

Yes that white stuff is cured pig fat, and it was delicious.
