A couple meals for Georgi and I

My friend Georgi and I have very similar taste in food.  I particular we share our love for all thing porky and tripe.  I've had a couple of meals on this trip that Georgi and I would love.  When we were in Normandy one day we decided (well I decided and Linda came along) to go explore the "Route de Fromage", hopefully a route in Normandy which had a lot of stops for Fromagaries and cheese tasting.  We set out for Pont-l'Évêque.  This town makes a very famous cheese not widely known in the US, but it is fantastic.  The town was about 30 minutes from Honfluer so it seemed like a good place to try to explore the "Route de Fromage".  As soon as we got to Pont-l'Évêque we went to the tourist office to inquire about "Route de Fromage".  Maybe we could get a map or recommendations to special cheese making places.  We we got to the tourist office we asked the guy in our best French.  "Où est la Route de Fromage" in his best English he say's "Doesn't exist".  He gave us the address of a large Cheese making factory where they made some of the well known Pont-l'Évêque, Camenbert, and  Livarot.  With my dreams of Route de Fromage shattered, lunch seemed an appropriate consolation.  We walked around Pont-l'Évêque and then I saw it in one of the restaurants.  A dish called "La Bon Norman", tripe cooked in cider with frites.  I pleaded with Linda that this was the place.  I guess in Normandy they have so many cows, and therefore cow stomachs that you were a good Norman if you would help out and eat this excess of this particular body parts.   That was OK with me.  It was a really small place with only locals.  Great presentation, tripe in this little glass canning jar, brasied in the other Normandy special, cider.  Really good.   I know that Georgi would have loved this one.

This next one we just had today.  I saw it a few day's ago and we had to go back.  The restaurant was called Au Pied de Cochon (The foot of the pig).  Georgi, I know you would have loved this one.  I'm not a huge pigs feet fan.  There's really not a ton to eat there, but a lot of knawing and finger licking.  There is a lot of tendon that is super tender, similar to what you might have in a chinese or Vietnamaes restaurant.
Supposedly the restaurant is famous for this dish, but I didn't see many people ordering it.
Oh and they serve it with Bearnaise sauce and fries.  Ohh Bearnaise sauce and fries 10x better than ketchup.  This was the best pigs feet I have ever had.
The creme brulee was fantastic too!
