It always comes down to food
Three plane rides and a bus trip later, not to mention,23 hours we arrived in Florence. We arrived at 10 pm. Even though the Italians don't eat until late, about 8pm. they seem to pack it up early. Lucky for us there is a restaurante almost next door.Restaurante Frescobaldi, the waiter says he has to ask the chef if we can be served. The waiter returns and says if we order something easy like pasta we ca eat because the cook wants to go home I have Pumpkin Ravioli with sage butter and Matt has pasta with funghi. The food was fantastico. Matt raves about the menu there is sea urchin with pasta and he threatens he has to go back. we then go to our home away from home the Residenza D'Epoca in Piazza Della Signoria and literally fall into bed. You enter the hotel via a narrow hallway and immediately go up stone stairs. The strangest thing was..in the hallway are oil paintings, which I imagine are the family that owns this place. The paintings are stylized to look like the renaissance. One painting is of a little boy who looked exactly like Matt's confirmation picture. I don't mean somewhat like I mean dead ringer. It was eearily delightful. I made Matt take a picture.
