Guadalajara

A quick trip to celebrate our birthday's in Guadalajara Mexico.  We arrived to our hotel Villa Ganz 8:50 on Thursday night just in time to check in and make our 9 PM reservation at Allium.  This meal was not what I was expecting for our first meal in Guadalajara.  A beautiful upscale restaurant right across the street from our hotel.  Food and service was fantastic.  Greeting us at the door was Paco who spoke perfect English.  Whenever we travel to a country who's native language is not English, we try to learn enough to be polite and order in restaurants.  There's always a little anxious when you actually have to speak the words that you have been practicing for some time.  How badly are you going to mispronounce words, will they actually understand what you are saying,  When we walked in the door and hear Paco greet us in his per English, I knew the evening was going to be a lot easier. The exchange rate here is unbelievable.  The meal we had which would have cost us easily $150 in San Diego was on about $56, and it was great with excellent service.  A great start to our Guadalajara adventure.

I asked for something with Tequilla that was not a Margarita (figured that I'd be drinking plenty of them being 50 miles from the town of Tequilla).  They made me this drink with Tequilla passion fruit and Compari.  Delicious
