A vacation from my vacation

Maybe I needed a vacation from my vacation, maybe I'm just getting lazy in my old age, but I love this place.  After leaving the frenetic pace of Rome, but we are now staying at Masseria Salinola near Ostuni in Puglia.  This place is the perfect antidote to Rome's hectic pace.  It's a a small resort set in the countryside a couple of miles walk from Ostuni.  The setting abound with quiet places to rest, reflect and or nap.  Whether poolside, in a little covered area, just outside our room, under the grape arbor just above the pool, or on the rooftop garden.  The spaces are beautifully presented, with soft music playing throughout.  Classical music in the morning or smooth jazz throughout the afternoon and evening.  It's the place I would have designed.  The staff is perfect, led by Danielle, with Dad Mimo helping with food service and Mom cooking in the kitchen.  All the staff there to help you relax and enjoy yourself.  The food has been spectacular.  We did not plan on eating here but after the first dinner, why go anywhere else.  It would not be better and the walk home after a bottle or 2 of wine is short.  We have eaten here ever night and have loved every meal.  The food in Puglia is more focused on vegetables, which has been a nice change from the heavy meets and pastas of Rome.  If you want to come to Italy to relax, Masseria Salinola is perfect.
