Temples instead of Cathedrals

On our first full day here in Beijing, we went to visit a Buddist temple.  The Lama Temple, or Yonghe Temple "Palace of Peace and Harmony".  Took a nice long walk through an unsurprisingly polluted Beijing to get there.  It very much reminded me of our many visits to the Cathedrals of Europe.  Soaring architecture and devotees, in this case burning incense instead of lightning candeles.  A holy place nonetheless.
